Phynova Six Day London

VENUE: LEE VALLEY VELOPARK, QUEEN ELIZABETH OLYMPIC PARK, LONDON

23 – 28 October 2018 will see Six Day London return to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the fourth year in a row. With the world’s best riders set to take part across the Men and Women’s competition, the event will kick off the 2018/19 Six Day Series in spectacular fashion.

The opening night of the 2018 series is a night full of fast paced action! The lightning fast sprinters take to the track before the Six Day Men tackle fan favourites such as the Madison Chase and 30 lap Derny where racers are paired with pacers on motorised bikes.

Day two is one of the most exciting nights of the competition. The Points Race, where riders sprint for points every 10 laps or earn additional points for lapping the field, is a favourite of Mark Cavendish who won the event in 2017.

Day four sees the start of the women’s competition which British riders have dominated in recent times. Expect the competition to be stiffer this year as three time World Champion Kirsten Wild goes on the hunt for her first Six Day London title.

It’s a night of double jeopardy as both the men and women take on the Elimination race. In one of the most exciting and tactical events of the series, riders must avoid being the last to cross the line every 3 laps or face elimination. The speed and drama increases as the field gets smaller until ultimately only one rider remains.

It’s the last night and the stakes don’t get any higher than in the hour long Final Chase. Riders have competed all week to get points on the leaderboard and now is their last chance to score more. The current leaders can expect wave after wave of attack from riders looking to earn extra laps and points in order to knock them off the top spot and secure the Six Day title.
