Introducing the Six Day Virtual Series

16th January 2021

Here at Six Day Cycling, just like any fan we have greatly missed the thrill of watching live sport and sitting in the crowd cheering on our heroes. We know you are no different.

This week, we are pleased to announce the first instalment of the Six Day Virtual Series. We have partnered with virtual cycling platform Bkool, using their unique virtual velodrome to bring Six Day Racing to life through your screens at home.

The riders will be competing in four virtual track disciplines after which the accumulated scores of those races will be totted up and the winner announced. All riders will compete in a Time Trial, Scratch Race, Elimination Race and a Points Final to finish.

Joining us for the inaugural event is a group brimming with talent and titles; a mix of established and up-and-coming female riders who will battle it out in a gruelling test of endurance on the virtual velodrome. Check out our participants below.

Elinor Barker (5x World Champion, Olympic Champion and 8x European Champion)

Megan Barker (Track European Games Champion)

Neah Evans (4x European Champion and 2x Six Day winner)

Zoe Backstedt (2x European Youth Olympic Champion)

Elynor Backstedt (2x European Junior Champion)

Abi Smith (National Youth & Junior Champion

Don’t be fooled, just because it is not staged in the real world does not mean the riders are any less competitive! See just how hard they work as they put it all on the line to be crowned champion.

Commencing on Tuesday 19 January, there will be four nights of back-to-back racing.  You can watch how all the action unfolds direct from our Facebook page by clicking on the link below.
