World champions Kluge and Reinhardt confirmed for London among Six Day regulars

We’re under 50 days away from another round of high octane drama at the Lee Valley VeloPark as the world’s best track cyclists descend on the capital for Phynova Six Day London.

Last year’s event conjured up a whirlwind of excitement across all six evenings with Callum Scotson and Cameron Meyer taking the men’s competition.

Katie Archibald clinched the women’s competition and as we gear up for another offering of cycling excellence, here are some of the Six Day Series regulars who are back for more from October 23.

Roger Kluge

A world champion, an Olympic silver medallist and a multiple Six Day champion, Roger Kluge will be desperate to add the Phynova Six Day London crown to his bulging medal collection.

In 2008 Kluge won the silver medal at the Beijing Olympic Games in the points race at the age of 22 before winning his first Six Day event in Amsterdam a year later.

Kluge has added four more Six Day gongs to his name since his first achievement but a Phynova Six Day London title would be the icing on the cake next month.

The German rode alongside Reinhardt last year and the pair will be hoping to add to their World Championship Madison gold with a glory at the Lee Valley VeloPark.

Theo Reinhardt

Returning to the Six Day Series, Theo Reinhardt comes back to the competition with a world championship gong to his name.

The 27-year-old rode to glory for the first time on the world stage in Apeldoorn, Netherlands in the men’s Madison alongside Roger Kluge.

Reinhardt took to the track with fellow German Kersten Thiele last year but will be hoping his world-beating partnership with Kluge will be enough to secure top spot in London this time round.

Christopher Latham

There’s nothing like a home favourite to light up a competition and Chris Latham will hoping to do exactly that next month.

It has been a pretty successful couple of years for the 24-year-old as he followed world championship bronze in the Scratch in Hong Kong last year with a Commonwealth Games bronze on the Gold Coast this April.

Now Latham is targeted a podium spot at Phynova Six Day London and given the form he’s in, you wouldn’t bet against him pushing the rest of the field all the way.

Jules Hesters

This teenage sensation is ready to make a splash in the men’s competition in London.

The 19-year-old has competed successfully in the U21 competition, storming to victory alongside Bryan Boussaer in London, taking home 113 points, comfortably clear of the opposition.

Now Hesters is preparing to make his senior debut in London and with a gold in the Elimination at the European Junior and U23 Track Cycling Championships this season, confidence couldn’t be higher.

Yoeri Havik

A fourth-place finish at last year in London will give Yoeri Havik all the incentive he needs to step onto the podium this time around.

Riding alongside Roy Pieters, the Dutch pairing finished on 382 points, just losing out to Kenny De Ketele and Moreno De Pauw.

The 27-year-old will be aiming to capture the form he has displayed in Berlin for the past two years where he reigns supreme on the Six Day circuit with Wim Stroetinga when he took the Six Day glory alongside Niki Terpstra in Amsterdam.
