It is the home of Oasis, Coronation Street and the railways system but now Manchester is all set to play host to a whole new form of excitement: the Six Day Series.

For the first time, cyclist’s biggest party heads to the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre from March 22-24 next year – with tickets now on sale for the three-day extravaganza.

Six Day Manchester is the latest instalment to a Series that now runs through Europe and stretches across the globe all the way to Australia.

And with a famous mix of thrilling live sport and rollicking music, featuring some of the world’s best, quickest and most entertaining cyclists, this is an event not to be missed.

Indeed, some of those track cycling hotshots have already confirmed their places at the event, including Commonwealth champion and team pursuit world record holder Sam Welsford.

But that’s not all with Bolton’s finest Chris Latham preparing himself for a short hop down the road for his home Six Day Series event, set to fly the flag for Great Britain alongside former team pursuit world champion Andy Tennant.

They’ll all head north with plenty on the line as well, with Six Day Manchester marking the last of the Series events before the grand finale in Brisbane, next April.

And with Phynova Six Day London rolling onto the Lee Valley VeloPark boards in less than a month’s time, there’s no better moment to see what Manchester has to offer next spring.

“Manchester is famous for its passionate sport and music fans and is the perfect place for a Six Day event,” said James Durbin, CEO of Madison Sports Group, organisers of the Six Day Series.

“We can’t wait to take the Six Day experience to a whole new audience and bring Manchester in to what is now a major global Series.”
