SIX DAY LONDON

24 – 29 October 2017

24 – 29 October 2017 will see Six Day London return to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the third year in a row. With some of the world’s best riders set to take part across the Men and Women’s competition, the event will kick off the Six Day Series in spectacular fashion.

Six Day London is the first event of the 2017-18 Six Day Series, which culminates in the one night Six Day Final at the Palma Arena, Mallorca on 14 April 2018.

This is what you can expect at Six Day London: six nights of world class racing which comes thick and fast! Throughout the session our track centre DJ will keep the energy and volume levels up and our event presenters will keep you informed and entertained.

The evening kicks off with some of the brightest young talent in cycling competing for the coveted 1878 Cup. From then on, it’s a fast moving evening featuring Madisons, sprints and the famous derny.

Doors open at 1730 and racing finishes at approximately 2230.

Day three will see the finale of the 1878 Cup – the competition for some of the best under 21 riders on the circuit. From then on, you’ll get the very best in Six Day racing – and the glorious tunes from our track centre DJ of course!

Day four and we say goodbye to the under 21s and hello to the women, who will be taking part in a refreshed competition this year. Plus the Six Day riders and sprinters continue to slug it out for the title of Six Day London winners!

Day five – and things are getting interesting as we approach the business end of Six Day London. The Women compete in a UCI Omnium – a 7.5km Scratch race, a 7.5km Tempo race, an Elimination race and a 20km Points race. Plus all the excitement of the Six Day riders and Sprinters.

It’s the final day and all up for grabs. Expect thrills and spills as all the riders battle it out to be crowned Six Day Champions. Plus for the first time at a Six Day, the women will take part in a Madison.

It’s an earlier start with doors opening at 1530 and racing finishing approximately 2030.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Nearest station / tube: Stratford / Stratford International. Lee Valley VeloPark is a 20 minute walk from both stations.

Stratford station is served by – Underground: Jubilee and Central lines – Docklands Light Railway (DLR) – National Rail: Abellio Greater Anglia for services to London Liverpool Street, Essex and East Anglia – London Overground // Stratford International station is served by: – DLR – National Rail: SouthEasten High Speed 1 services to St Pancras International // Useful links: Transport for London (TfL) – National Rail /

Several bus routes connect to Stratford and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – services 388, 308, 339,97 and N205 al stop near Lee Valley VeloPark

There are cycle routes connecting Lee Valley VeloPark to local residential areas as well as the cycle routes through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. // The venue is close to Sustrans National Cycle Network Route 1 and Cycle Superhighway CS2. Limited bike racks are available at the venue and there are Santander Cycle hire racks nearby too

Addison Lee is the Official Passenger Services Provider to Six Day London and cars can be booked in advance via the Addison Lee app.

Black taxis and other taxi services are available at Westfield Stratford City.

There is no spectator parking at Lee Valley VeloPark during major events. The closest car parks are at Westfield Stratford City and Here East.
